Alfa-Bank received an investment rating from S&P
Alfa-Bank has received an investment rating from the international agency S&P Global Ratings. The rating of this category is assigned to the most reliable organizations.
As of today, no other Russian private bank has an international investment rating, while Alfa-Bank already has two of them, as earlier in April, it received a similar assessment from Fitch.
S&P assesses the creditworthiness of Alfa-Bank at the country level (BBB-), which is the highest level for a
bank from Russia. According to the rating agency, Alfa-Bank achieves strong financial results from year to year and successfully copes with crises, and its balanced risk management system allows to maintain high quality of its assets.
“Alfa-Bank remains the largest, most stable and efficient private bank in Russia. And it continues to grow
dynamically. In the first half of 2021, we set a record for profit – $905 million, return on equity exceeded 20%, and operating efficiency (cost to income ratio) was at 37%”, commented Alexei Tchoukhlov, Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Financial Officer of Alfa-Bank.
Alfa-Bank's rating outlook is 'Stable'.
S&P also upgraded the rating of the holding company – ABH Financial Holdings, by two notches to BB+/B, the outlook is 'Stable'.
