Alfa-Bank is top bank in Kazakhstan rating of mobile banking for business

SME Banking Club announced the best Kazakhstani mobile banking apps for business clients.
Alfa-Bank topped the list.

SME Banking Club is an international association bringing commercial banks and other financial
institutions together. Key focus of the association is services, products and solutions for small
and medium-sized businesses.

In early 2020, SME Banking Club analyzed banking apps for business clients to see which ones
are the best. The experts used 140 scoring criteria: functionality, operability and usability,
integration with other systems, customer support, security and much more. On June 19,
experts summed up the results: Alfa-Bank has the best mobile app for business clients in

Alfa-Business Kazakhstan is a mobile app for small and medium-sized business owners offering
95% of banking operations. With the app’s help, entrepreneurs pay for goods, services and
taxes, send payment details to partners and customers, control transactions and much more.

“Our goal is to free our customers of the need to visit physical branches. Our app allows them to
manage their finances without leaving home. This is truly helpful during quarantine period. We
are very happy to receive not only our users’ approval, but also a high score by the experts,” said
Andrey Timchenko, Chief Executive Officer for Alfa-Bank JSC SB.

It is worth reminding that back in 2019 Alfa-Bank Kazakhstan app was ranked second in
Markswebb rating of mobile applications.

ABH Ukraine Limited has increased its shareholding in JSC Alfa-Bank

On June 25, 2020, Alfa-Bank’s shareholding structure was changed - ABH Ukraine Limited (ABHU, Cyprus) increased its shareholding in the Bank through the repurchase of the stake from MSP Stiftung (Liechtenstein). 

As a result of the transaction, ABHU's equity stake in the bank increased up to 42.3994%.

The transaction also led to minor changes in the ultimate ownership structure of JSC Alfa-Bank. Actually, the ultimate substantial shareholders of JSC Alfa-Bank are as follows: Mikhail Fridman – 32.8632%, German Khan – 20.9659%, Alexey Kuzmichev – 16.3239%, and Petr Aven – 12.4018%.

The transaction was carried out in full accordance with the legislative and regulatory requirements of Ukraine.

Alfa-Bank Ukraine shareholder ABH Ukraine Limited successfully completed the issue of new Eurobonds amounting to USD 50 mln

On February 18, 2020, ABH Ukraine Limited, a shareholder of JSC "Alfa‑Bank", which owns 38.2% of the bank's shares, registered the new Eurobond issue (ISIN XS2123287075) for a total principle amount of USD 50 million, with maturity date October 5, 2023 and quarterly coupon payments at the interest rate 9% per annum. 

The Eurobonds were issued pursuant to the rules specified by the Regulation "S" of the United States Securities and Exchange Commission and listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange.

This is the eighteenth Eurobond issue completed by ABH Ukraine Limited since the beginning of 2015. As of the publication date, there were 11 issues of ABH Ukraine Limited in circulation, including 2 issues in euro and 9 issues in USD, 7 issues have been repaid.

Euromoney recognized A-Club as the best private banking service in Ukraine

The reputable international publication Euromoney has recognized A-Club from Alfa-Bank Ukraine as the #1 private banking service in Ukraine. The Bank receives this award for the fifth consecutive year, based on the results of the Private Banking and Wealth Management 2020 Annual Survey.

A-Club, a division of Alfa-Bank Ukraine specializing in private banking for wealthy clients, received the award as the best private banking service provider among Ukrainian financial institutions in the nomination Best Private Banking Services Overall. Euromoney also recognized A-Club leadership positions in servicing high-income clients:

  • Mega High Net Worth Clients nomination (>$250 mln capital) - first place,
  • Ultra High Net Worth Clients nomination (>$30 mln - $250 mln capital) - first place,
  • High Net Worth Clients nomination ($5 mln - $30 mln capital) – fourth place.

Along with that, the publication acknowledged achievements of A-Club team in serving business owners (nomination Serving Business Owners), as well as the introduction of innovative technologies (nomination Innovative or Emerging Technology Adoption).
