Directors

Petr is a prominent businessman and former politician. He graduated from the Moscow State University (1977) and holds a PhD in Econometrics (1980). Petr then became a senior researcher at the All-Union Institute for Systems Studies at the USSR Academy of Sciences and later spent two years at the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis in Laxenburg, Austria (1989–1991).

Petr went on to become the Minister of Foreign Economic Relations for the Russian Federation (1991–1992). He served as Russia’s representative to the Group of Seven and conducted a number of high-level trade and economic missions to Western capitals.

From 1994 until June 2011 he served as President of Alfa-Bank (Russia).

Currently, Petr is the Chairman of ABHH and Alfa-Bank (Russia), and a board member of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine), LetterOne Holdings, and LetterOne Investment Holdings. He also serves as the Chairman of the Board of Directors at AlfaStrakhovanie Group.

Petr holds a number of public positions, including: member of the Endowment Foundation Board of Trustees of New Economic School, trustee of the National Association for National Financial Reporting Standards, professor at the State University Higher School of Economics, member of the Board of Directors of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Russia-Latvian Business Council, and a member of the Yale University President’s Council on International Activities.

Mikhail is one of the original founders of the Alfa Banking Group, along with a number of other major businesses, including Alfa-Capital, AlfaStrakhovanie, A1, Rosvodokanal, and X5 Retail Group.

He is a co-founder and board member of LetterOne Holdings and LetterOne Investment Holdings. Mikhail is a member of the Boards of Directors of ABHH and Alfa-Bank (Russia), the Supervisory Board of X5 Retail Group, and a board member of VEON.

Since 2005, Mikhail has been the Russian representative on the International Advisory Board of the Council of Foreign Relations. That year he was also elected a member of the Public Chamber of Russia.

Mikhail has been an active supporter of Jewish initiatives both in Russia and worldwide. In 1996, Mikhail was one of the founders of the Russian Jewish Congress and sits on its executive committee.

He graduated from the Moscow Institute of Steel and Alloys in 1986.

Mr. Fridman was born in Lviv, Ukraine.

Andrey Kosogov graduated from the Moscow Power Engineering Institute (1987). In 1992 he was hired as CEO of Alfa Capital, and later became responsible for all investment units of Alfa-Bank (Russia).

In 1998, he was appointed the First Deputy Chairman of the Board of Alfa-Bank (Russia).

In the period of 2005-2009, Andrey was elected the Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Alfa-Bank (Ukraine) and continued to serve as a board member until 2015.

Andrey was the Chairman of the Board of Directors of Altimo, overseeing the cell network operator VimpelCom until its 2011 merger with the Egyptian billionaire Naguib Sawiris’s telecom holdings. The merger formed Wind Telecom, which eventually became the 6^th world’s largest telecom company.

Currently, Andrey is a board member of ABHH, Alfa-Bank (Russia), Alfa-Capital, AlfaStrakhovanie, LetterOne Holdings, and LetterOne Investment Holdings.

Andrea has held various board positions and is currently a board member of CNP UniCredit Vita S.p.A. and ABH Holdings S.A.

He graduated from Business Administration at Bocconi University in 1997. After lecturing and research at Bocconi, Andrea joined UniCredit in 1998. As a member of the Group’s M&A team, he worked on major acquisition and reorganization projects carried out by the UniCredit Group until 2008, including the expansion into CEE and the merger with HVB.

From 2008 to 2011, Andrea led the Strategy and Planning unit of UniCredit Private Banking Division. He worked on the new European business model and development of the Division’s internal and external growth strategies. He then moved to the Planning Department in April 2011, where he headed F&SME Planning.

In November 2012, Andrea became Head of Group Investor Relations. Later, in September 2013 he was appointed Head of Group Planning, Strategy and Capital Management, covering at the same time, and ad interim, the IR position until June 2014. That gave him an opportunity to work on the Group Multi Year Plan 2013-2018 from both strategy and communications perspective.

Since October 2015, he had served as Head of Strategy, Business Development and M&A Department, focusing on Business Development activity such as Bancassurance, Credit Cards and the Strategic Review, completed in December 2016.

In April 2017, Andrea was appointed Head of Strategy and M&A of UniCredit S.p.A.

Lord Davies is a Partner and the Chairman of Corsair Capital, a private equity firm specialising in financial services. He is also the Chairman of LetterOne, the Chairman of the Lawn Tennis Association, the Chairman of Intermediate Capital Group, the Chairman of UK India Business Council, Interim Chairman of Glyndebourne Productions Ltd, and he is an Adviser to Teneo.

He was Minister for Trade, Investment, Small Business and Infrastructure from January 2009 until May 2010.

Prior to that, Lord Davies was Chairman and previously CEO, and served on the Board of Standard Chartered for over 12 years.

He was awarded a CBE for his services to the financial sector and the community in Hong Kong in June 2002 where he served as a member of the HK Exchange fund for seven years. Lord Davies is a JP in Hong Kong, and he is an Honorary Distinguished Professor at Cardiff Business School.

Lord Davies is married with two children and is a fluent Welsh speaker.

Being an ABHH Board member, Mr. Atnashev also serves as Director of Group portfolio management at CTF Consultancy Limited.

Before joining CTF, Mr. Atnashev was the Dean of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO from 2016 to 2019. In the period of 2011 to 2015, he was Vice President Major Projects and Head of Iron Ore Division at EVRAZ plc. In 2000-2010, he worked for TNK (TNK-BP after 2003) at various positions in supply chain management, finance, and major project management.

Marat graduated from the State University of Management (Moscow) in 1999, and holds a PhD in Economics. He also holds an MBA from INSEAD (2002) and an MPA from Harvard Kennedy School (2016).

Andrew is currently a board member of Alfa-Bank (Russia), Alfa-Bank (Ukraine), and Amsterdam Trade Bank (Netherlands), having worked in the Alfa Banking Group since 2005 as Deputy Chairman of the Management Board and CFO (both until July 2013). Andrew also serves on the Audit Committee of the Alfa Banking Group and chairs the Audit Committee of Alfa-Bank (Russia), and participates in all main Board related matters.

Prior to his time at Alfa-Bank (Russia), Andrew spent time as CFO, and subsequent Partner, at SUN Group (1999 – 2005) and Renaissance Capital (1997 – 1999). Previously, he was responsible for the full financial function of The US Russia Investment Fund (1994 – 1995) and CS First Boston, based in Moscow.

Andrew began his career in 1988 with Deloitte & Touche in Johannesburg, South Africa, where he qualified as a Chartered Accountant. Andrew also holds a Bachelor of Commerce and a Bachelor of Accountancy from the University of the Witwaterstrand. 

Pavel is the Secretary of the Board and Managing Director of ABHH. He is also the Chairman of Alfa Capital Markets and Alfa Asset Management (Europe), and a board member of ABH Financial.

Between 1999 and 2002, he served as CFO of Alfa Bank Holdings Ltd., the ultimate holding company of the Alfa Banking Group.

Pavel received his Master of Engineering from the Bauman Moscow State Technical University and Master of Economics with Honors from the Moscow International Marketing and Management Academy. He is a graduate of Senior Executive and Mergers & Acquisitions executive programs at London Business School. He also completed Corporate Restructuring, Financial Instruments & Markets, and Valuation programs at Harvard Business School, and graduated from the Strategic Management in Banking and Leading from the Chair executive programs at INSEAD.
